Major Accident Hazard Analysis- SEVESO III
Major accident hazard analysis, either in the context of the SEVESO III Directive or as a stand-alone study, is a powerful tool that helps understand hazards, determine their likelihood of occurrence as well asimplement all necessary actions to prevent and mitigate consequences.
Human Reliability Assessment
The main contributing factor in the majority of accidents and incidents in industry, is human error. Human performance is therefore a key factor regarding safety.
Human reliability may defined as "the ability of a person to carry out an action he has learned, under given circumstances, and for a certain period of time" (Leplat 1985).
The investigation of the causes of human error in order to improve human reliability requires the study of both the human factor and the working system in the light of their interaction.
Risk Management with BOW TIES
A Bow Tie diagram offers visualisation of hazards, threats, barriers and consequences in such a way as to facilitate workforce understanding of hazard management and their role in it. In this approach, hazard is represented by a top event (realization of hazard) which can be triggered by one or several threats and result to one or several consequences. The barriers are provided to protect the system from these threats or consequences.

ATEX - Explosion Protection Document (EPD)
According to Greek Legislation (PD 42/2004 Article 8) in line with the ATEX European Directive 1999/92/EC, every facility that handles flammable materials (Explosive Vapor, Gases, Combustible Organic Dusts, Volatile Substances, etc.) in any stage of its process, must conduct an Explosion Protection Document (ATEX Study). This document has to be up-to-date and available upon request from the authorities.
Fire Safety & Protection
Ergonomia’s experienced Fire Safety Engineers can provide complete Fire Safety Assessments and Fire Protection Studies for all areas of an Industrial facility, using International fire protection standards (e.g. NFPA, ISO, EN etc.) and sophisticated software tools for simulation and hydraulic calculations.
Fire Safety Assessments evaluate the suitability, effectiveness and regulatory compliance of existing fire protection systems and provide recommendations for technical upgrades and effective coverage of areas.
