Performance Level Definition

Prevention or risk reduction of a hazardous situation or condition is usually accomplished nowadays using automation solutions (safety control system). The components which form the safety control system are called safety relative parts (SRP’s) and their proper and continuous operation should be ensured.

Machinery Safety - Warning Labels Study

The user of machinery (company) and the manufacturer are obligated to provide all the necessary information regarding its safe operation. According to P.D. 395/1994 & P.D. 57/2010 (EU Directives 2010/42/EC & 2009/104/EC respectively) machinery should be equipped with the appropriate safety signs (labels), informing the users for unsafe situations, areas and equipment.

The labels shall:

Machinery Technical File - CE Marking

Compliance auditing of machinery according to P.D. 395/94

Management Systems (ISO)

Establishing a management system by a company is a major factor for addressing risks that correlate to the products and services provided, but also for its operation, in general. Moreover, it contributes essentially to the growth of productivity and protection of the environment, at the same time.

Specialized Ventilation Studies (ATEX, Ammonia Refrigeration, etc)

During the compilation of the "Explosion Protection Document" study, it is not rare that the spread or existence of explosive gases may capture extensive field areas. These areas are characterized as “Hazardous Areas” or “ATEX Zones". This is particularly the case for confined spaces where the prevailing ventilation conditions are characterized as 'inadequate' or 'unacceptable', since they cannot provide the necessary sweep of clean air into the space to safely and quickly remove the hazardous gas concentrations generated.

Safety Evaluation of Coolants & Ammonia Management Systems

The use of extensive quantities of refrigerants in industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and the corresponding risks to personnel arising from the possibility of a relevant leakage of small or significant quantities of refrigerant gases, dictate the necessity of compliance with the EN 378 series of European standards (EN 378-1,2,3&4) regarding the "Safety and environmental requirements for refrigerating systems and heat pumps".

P&IDs – PFDs

Ergonomia undertakes the review and/or preparation of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), according to ANSI/ISA 5.1-2009 “Instrumentation Symbols and Identification”. P&IDs are 2D diagrams that depict the pipelines, equipment and instrumentation of a pipeline network.
